Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of office duties required to support the activities of the Commissioner's office.
The essential day to day functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide expert customer service, as this position is the first point of contact by phone and walk-ins, with citizens, other Commissioner of Revenue offices in Virginia, other taxing agencies outside of Virginia, Department of Taxation and Attorneys.
Review monthly and annual downloads from the Department of Motor Vehicles of personal property records for uniform and equitable assessments.
Process state income tax returns with the Department of Taxation Process Disabled Veteran Applications for Personal Property exemptions.
Maintain leased vehicle reports from various vehicle leased companies.
Maintain schedule C with Department of Taxation in order to properly assess PPTRA for personal property.
In contact with mobile home park owners in person, electronically or by phone to verify mobile homes located in their parks.
Maintains owner account information by updating mailing address, etc.
Works closely with the Treasurer's Office Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, plus knowledge of business office practices and procedures.
Ability to learn and use County specific software, impeccable customer service, and Microsoft Office knowledge is a must.
Ability to work as a team but also work independently.

Incentive:
You will be eligible to participate in a Career Development Program, with three years of service in the Commissioner's Office and if all requirements of the program are met, a pay increase will be awarded.
With the help of the Commissioner's Office, it will be your responsibility to maintain the necessary requirements each year as prescribed by the Career Development Program to keep the initial award as part of you certification as a Master Deputy of the Commissioner of the Revenue.
